What is a perfect sat score?

A perfect SAT score is the highest possible score achievable on the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test). While the SAT has undergone changes over the years, since March 2016, the highest possible score is 1600. This is broken down into two sections:

 • Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW): The highest score achievable in this section is 800. Success in this section requires a strong understanding of reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing conventions.

 • Mathematics: The highest score achievable in this section is 800. This section assesses a student's knowledge of algebra, geometry, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.

Achieving a perfect score is exceedingly rare, putting a student in the top 1% of test-takers. It demonstrates exceptional academic ability and mastery of the skills tested on the SAT. It significantly enhances college applications and demonstrates readiness for higher education.
